Last year, when I was vetting marketing materials (one of my previous job function), I came across the term PSP. And I literally wondered aloud. I said in my office: "What does PSP stands for? Is it misleading to write like this? Would our clients not understand?"
Across my cubicle, the people in the other department heard me and one of them shouted back:" Stands for Playstation Portable."
And I am like:" Oooooooh.............Why isn't it portable playstation?" The english is wrong right? I mean you say things like portable kettle, portable radio, portable desktop but not RADIO PORTABLE.
So you can tell that I am quite a gadget-idiot. But I have always liked to play games, just that I didn't know that there is such a thing called PSP, invented. Seriously, I daydream so much that it was only until 6 months ago that I started to notice that people on the MRT are carrying this "big handphones" around with bigger-than-usual screens. And when I peeped over their shoulders, they are playing high-tech games. So for a looooong time, I didn't recognise the look of PSP at all. I thought they were just unusually large mobile phones with superb functions! Don't laugh at me.
But NOW,....I am PROUD to say that I am the owner of this less-than-a-week old
PSP........
*beam beam*
See....
SEEEEEEEE!!!!*grin grin*

It's not a very clear shot but I don't care. I just love my PSP. I asked Wilson why didn't he choose the pink one when he bought it for me? He said white's the same colour as my ipod.
But ipod's only in white or black mah right? Correct me if I am wrong. Aiya, never mind, it's not the colour that matters but the content inside. Well, I am not techie enough to know how to operate this new toy of mine. So Grace, my bro's gf came into the picture. She formats some stuff and load in a game for me. (Wah, load games takes 3-4hours, xiong ah!)
And I bumped into my younger-than-me-by-12-yr-old-neighbour-and-PSP-savvy-judging-by-his-age so he loaded 5 more games into my toy. Thank lord for Ignatius ... I keep forgetting how high-tech youngsters are these days! Cool Lah!
Ok, I know I sound like I am raving on about my toy but I tell you, this is best of the bestest gadget that I would ever like to have. Well, of course if someone can come up with Wii portable, that be nice as well.
Ok, let's move on. My favourite game of the moment is PATAPON!!!!!!!!!
Patapon is really funny! Funny little troopers. I have to lead my troopers through different stages and my troopers behave like some tribal hooligans. Right now I am trying to take down the Zigoton Fort. So I have to follow the beat of the drums by tapping on different buttons on my player. To move forward, the beat is
PATA
PATA
PATA
PON
To attack, the beat is
PON
PON
PATA
PON
After every victory, my troopers will always dance around me like I am some tribal leader and they will say:
" Drink til the sun comes up!"
"Gine is the best, Gaze upon IT for contentment. "
"Hiccup!"
"Rejoice Rejoice! kee hee hee!"
"How terrifying! Whatever shall we do, Almighty Gine?"
"Let's rest up for tomorrow"
So I am ALMIGHTY GINE in their eyes, I am LORD GINE. Wahahahaha! Call me lord please.
When I am leading the battle, it's another story. If I press the buttons correctly and didn't skip a beat, my troopers be very motivated and they would say things like:"
Kaboom.. Charge!
Strike hard! And in rhythm!
Spank their bottom!
Attack.. show no mercy!
Attack! Pon Pon!
Beware the devil cometh!
But if I miss the beat, they would be really sarcastic!!! They would suan me like mad lor. Like:
"Eep! I wet myself!"
"Forgot the pattern?"
"The timing is off!"
"Egad! Terrible!"
"This is bad... can i go home?"
Nasty right? So although they kneel down before me and praise me and worship me like a goddess, but they also speak like hooligans!
