Cynic of the Clowns
However, today, the cynic in me comes out. Blame it on my friend who informed me about her not-so-faithful partner. Blame it on the time of the month. Blame it on all those who told me you-are-a-doting-father-yet-play-with-women-when-on-business-trips. Blame it on hormones. Blame it on whatever.
Men!!! Don’t know they are all the same, or same the all. You know what? They like to tell you that so-and-so shouldn’t have done this or that, so-and-so are just duh-duh-duh and so-and-so should never blar-blar-blar. No matter how decent they present themselves to you, or to your friends, they will still end up doing the SAME THING! When you point out this fact, they will say, “NO! Different! Different scenario/ situation/ circumstances…. Cannot compare like that! Why you talk about me together with them! I am not them, I am different!” Tell me how different. HOW? HOW DIFFERENT?
It’s the SAME. Pfffh…. You men think all women are mudderfarking idiots? Eh, women fake stupid so you can feel superior. Don’t think you are GOD and can really get away scot-free. Don’t twist your words and think all women are gong-gong like that bimbo you are currently buaya-ing, and think women cannot read between the lies. She’s just giving you chance only, not because she really let you twist until gong-gong and ignore your mistakes.
Kick you all ah!!! Don’t think women are all mudderfarking stupid.
You dispensed sweet nothings, whispered romantic 天长地久 stuff and sounded oh-so-sincere. Who are you trying to bluff? Trying to distract women hoping the problem would miraculously disappear? There’s no need to talk bad about those other bad guys and say they deserve to be condemned because…. even when you said you won’t do the same thing, you would still end up sama-sama. You can’t take it that you are actually as bad as those you crucified.
Don’t take women as blar-dy fools! You think you hearing a mad woman talking now huh? Kick you all ah!
When women decide to cut it all off, don’t say women are cold-blooded. Go find those shallow bimbos! Spread their legs for you many many times, believe your lies, and never dare to question. Spread STDs and then spend your money until you are deep in debt. This kind you all like right?
Men! All the same! Same the all! Handsome ugly all the same. MCP no MCP all the same. Small dick big dick all the same. Those kind who date you and then marry other women and then 10 years later end up marry you again only happens to Carrie Bradshaw. Only in SNTC movie that Carrie and her man never saw each other for 5 months after a big argument outside the church and still end up happily ever after. Ever sunshine, ever penthouse, ever xi-mi-lan. *Roll eye* Don’t get me wrong. I like the movie. That the four women are always there for each other.
And have you all seen many aplenty trendily dressed ladies out there? I have.
And have you all seen those clowns (bfs/ partners/ husbands, whatever) beside them dressed sloppily while digging their nose? I have.
Every day when out for work, I am greeted by men who looked oh-so-important firing instructions away on their Blackberry WIFI 3G PDA phones. They must be having a loaded paycheck judging by their expensive perfume, Rolexes and BMWs. But do they spend that little extra effort? To at least make sure that their outfit’s presentable? Have some self-respect please! Even if I feel under the moon on some days, I don’t go out dressed like a clown. I even make sure my bra match my panties or at the very least the same colour!!!
Shirts with sleeves frayed; pants either grazing the floor at the back or having mismatched socks peeking out from underneath, yellow ties with pinky-red checks paired with washed-out grey shirts; ugly backpacks over their shirt-pants… Whatever are they thinking? Clowns!!! Hell, take some pride. No need for Hugo Boss or Armani but at least be neat. Find clothes that fit and won’t bunch at your armpit cos it’s loose. And ya, if women can dress casual yet look trendy, you jolly well should match up when seen with them!
You men like to see pretty lasses in great clothes huh? Would you like to see me in olive trenchcoat with birds-of-paradise hawaiian sarong wrapped outside? Or what about white pants that emphasized saggy butts with visible g-string protruding out? Do you see women scratch their ass or stick their fingers into their nose?
Yucks right? Then why can't you CLOWNS give me that same decency???!!! Kick you all ah. Geesh.

北京欢迎你!!! (贝晶欢迎妮)

Yesterday, I saw these 5 mascots displayed on my brother's table. Sooooo cute!!! I really like. And I really want. I thought of asking him for the blue one but then, his collection would be incomplete so I refrained myself. GO where then can buy?
The blue mascot is 贝贝. 贝贝 got red lipstick. Chio red lipstick. I like. A brief description of her:

If you can't really read Mandarin, then below's the english translation:
"In China's traditional culture and art, the fish and water designs are symbols of prosperity and harvest. And so Beibei carries the blessing of prosperity. A fish is also a symbol of surplus in Chinese culture, another measure of a good year and a good life. The ornamental lines of the water-wave designs are taken from well-known Chinese paintings of the past. Among the Five Friendlies, Beibei is known to be gentle and pure. Strong in water sports, she reflects the blue Olympic ring."
Only one person in this world knows what 阿贝贝 truly means.

It's absurb when I hear from the news that people are still snapping up properties. Don't they know it's time to tighten the belts? Hadn't they heard about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae?
I used to sell a product that's fully mortgaged-backed. I won't name which company as I know of a friend still working in that company. Not a local company so yea, my friend's not local and definitely doesn't work here.
So I first knew of FM & FM back in my banking days. What you need to know's that they do not lend directly to home owners. That's an important fact. They are not like a bank so to put it simply, they do not take on the default risk directly. They act as funding vessels for about half of United States home loans by either guaranteeing or buying the mortgage loans made by the lenders.
So you clear about this right? Something like re-insurance but not quite cos re-insurance is not a traded commodity.
Next, FM & FM will repackage these loans and sell them as debt securities worldwide, mostly to institutions. So, these mortgage-backed securities which are again rated accordingly by S&P or whatever there is. If FM & FM goes, it's gonna be really bad. Imagine there's no Coka-Cola in this world. Far-fetched comparison but yea, you get the picture.
And so the US government decides to help. My question is: if everybody decides to ask US back for their money at the same time NOW, how? Has this freaking thought ever enter your mind?
US would never be able to pay up if all decides to ask for their funds AT.THE.SAME.TIME.
I shouldn't have bought US dollars lah.

New Blog Skin
It's really not easy. I have to edit the HTML of the layout. You know what HTML stands for? Ceri told me it's HyperText Markup Language. HYPERTEXT MARKUP LANGUAGE!
It's like a DIY crash course... through trial-and-error. I have never done so HIGH level webby stuff. FWAAAAAAAAH!!! I feel so I.T. But I did tire myself out. I typed, then 'view change', if wrong, I 'clear'; if correct, I 'save'. Tedious process. The right side of the main text interlocked with the green swirly part of the right panel.... SO it was with much effort (and errors) that finally, I got them separated.
And so with my proud new 'skin', I shall introduce you to something I met the week before... Gloria! She's a breed of toy poodle. Yes, toy!!!! When I first saw Gloria, she's really like a toy. When I chased her, she ran round and round. So cute!! Like a furball; her tail bobbing in the air and butts swinging side to side rapidly. She's real manja as well - nuzzled my neck and romped on the floor when you tickled her neck and belly. Last week, I saw her again, she seemed to have grown slightly.

I remembered thinking: I'm sick so would I pass the virus to Gloria? In the end, I couldn't resist playing with her. This is my 3rd time being sick in 2 months. It creeped up on me slowly on Thursday. Come Friday, much effort was needed before I could 'take a deep breath' at the clinic. And so after 3 tries, the doctor said:" breathe through your mouth", and then he said" Your lungs sound very congested." Of course! Why else would I visit you instead of just taking left-over medicine at home? He aimed a gun lookalike thing at my forehead and I could feel the red laser beam trained there. He proclaimed:" You have slight fever." Wah, now use 'gun' can take temperature! No need old-fashioned stick-in-your-ear/ mouth thermometer.
Over the weekend, I grew worse. The tablets were laid on the floor next to my bed for convenience, but the act to reach out and take them seemed to be very enormous effort. Eventually, I won the fever battle. Now what's left are what I called battle scars - cold/ cough plus husky voice.
Husky = sexy. No?? Haha. Seriously, what's sexy are these two outfits! So bored of my own costumes. I want new costumes! The same ones in these two pictures! It's difficult to find costumes locally. Bad quality. Expensive. Between $600 to $1,000. Might as well I shop on the net and pay for shipment. The risk's that because you can't try what you see on the net, you always have to do alterations; failing which you have to try and sell it to some other who can better fit into it. How Ailei? Your side can make it or not?

Besides thinking about costumes, I'm also thinking if I should make a police report. MLR and MN put this idea of going to the police in my head. I am undecided as doubt seeped in. What if I was just paranoid and saw/ heard things which didn't happen? You see, yesterday, we were discussing about my encounter in the lift two evenings ago.
I entered the lift, pressed 13th floor and stood at the corner near the buttons. This man entered the lift, pressed 14th floor after me and stood slightly diagonally behind me; at the back of the lift. The lift started to move. And then I heard it, the rapid jiggling of metal against metal. My hair stood up on my back. I became super alert. I dared not turn behind. Instead, I tried to look at the glass reflection of the lift door of what he's up to.
Maybe the reflection wasn't all clear but he's wanking away!!! The rapid action of his hand, the jiggling sound that I knew from experience definitely came from a belt that's unbuckled. I mean, I couldn't be wrong. I have heard this same kind of intensity sound before and seen the speed of a man's hand jerking right before my eyes countless times. Back when I was dating of course. So I couldn't be wrong, right? Or am I? Because I dare not turn around and I did not exactly see what his hand was doing, I couldn't be sure. Plus I thought he was wearing a pouch so maybe he could be just scratching his tummy? At a really really high speed/ intensity equivalent to jerking? I wished desperately that he would not touch me and prayed that my floor's here so when it was my floor, I quickly booted out and opened my door and slammed it shut! He didn't follow. Phew...
Carol asked why didn't I press some other floor and scoot out? I was too shocked to react. Plus he already knew which floor I was getting to. Carol said that's worse, he knew where you stay. When I got up yesterday morning, it didn't bother me much but now I am kinda terrified after all these talk. All of them agreed I should keep a lookout from today onwards. I just hope what I thought happened were just fragments of my over-imagination.
I can't fathom why such weird encounters ever happened. To me.
Flasher? Check.
Rapist Wannabe? Check.
Stranger-who-grinds-his-*ahem*-against-my-butts-on a crowded escalator? Check.
Stranger-who-waited-in-his-car-each-morning-to-chat-with-me-because-he-noticed-I-always-walk-past-the-same-carpark? Check.
Stranger-who-suddenly-shoved-his-camera-right-in-my-face-and-took-a-snap-and-scoot-off-before-I-even-knew-what-happened? Check.
And now this wanker wannabe added to the list. Along with many other weird ones which I couldn't recall offhand.
Something's wrong with this world. I have to whack myself across my face to wake up my idea. I.HAVE.TO.BE.MORE.ALERT. I cannot keep daydreaming! I cannot always be unaware of my surroundings. Slap myself more often. That's the way to be more on my toes.
Carol brought up a good suggestion: bring a divider, those projector type but with 2 prongs. Not those with just one prong and the other side to hold pencil kind. She held it in her hand, crossed her arm so that the hand holding the divider pokes out at the person who tried to rub against her on the bus. She suggested I get one too. What a lovely idea!!! I hope all of you who read this will do likewise. If you are a female, I mean. Even if you are a male, relay it along to your sisters/ gfs/ wives.
Aiyah, this is all like a bad dream. Now I go orr orr. Sleep it all off. Did I say last week I dreamt that I was a lesbian, took picture with Zoe Tay & Aileen Tan and was locked up in a mental hospital for a day?

Murphy's Law
So like Murphy’s Law, somehow there are days where shit does materialise. Whatever can go wrong will GO wrong." Murphy's Law: The
theory is that whatever you think can go wrong WILL go
wrong. If there is just one gun and one
bullet in the entire galaxy, I would load the bullet and pull the trigger
aimed at Murphy’s head. But knowing Murphy, Murphy will be
unscathed. The bullet will just bounce off Murphy’s head and the gun will
explode in my hands. "
Incident 1:
Cancelled all DBS/ POSB accounts years ago. Received card statement recently. Called phone banking. After trying for 3 days. Finally someone answered. Apparently, someone from operations cancelled everything else for me but forgot about this card years ago. He said I need to verify you, so mdm, what other accounts do you have with DBS. I said I don't know. I said can you verify me with other questions. He said mdm, what other accounts you have with us? He and I said the same things for another two more times. I can't stand it! I made my way to the branch. Angrily. And then I dropped my sunglasses. The one you saw on this blog's profile pic. I picked it up. It dropped again. And it broke this time. Made of plastic can break also? Wa Kao!!
**********
Moral of Incident 1:
When I saw the card statement, I knew whatever can go wrong WILL go wrong and that utimately I've to head to the branch to cancel... but to spoil my favourite sunglasses too?? I think instead of one Murphy, there were at least two Murphies that day.
P.S. It's a shame that the incident reaffirmed my decision to close all my accounts with them years ago. The largest network local bank. Pui Pui Pui!!!!!!
Incident 2:
In a club. Bumped into an acquaintance. Small talk. End small talk. Go back and join my friends. Hee hee ha ha with them awhile more. Time to go home. Thinking in my head: please don't let me bump into that acquaintance again. Else, small talk again. Not in the mood to act nice and small talk. Walked out. So far so good. Aiya, need to go toilet. Came out from toilet. So far so good. And then I rounded the corner. Just before I hit the road. Bumped into acquaintance again.
**********
Moral of Incident 2:
Sometimes you think in your head: won't be so swee swee that the person you hope and pray you won't bump into will be just around the corner. Just when you are thinking that, really swee swee bang head! Whatever you think can happen WILL happen, WILL go wrong.
P.S. I also had the experience of heading to a place thinking that the person I didn't inform wouldn't be there. Just when I wondered whether it'd be so 'suay'/'zhun'/ coincidental, the next thing I knew, the person really turned up there.
Incident 3:
Finished makeup. Thinking whether gig will start on time. Gathered my stuff. Made my way to venue. SMS arrived: No need so early cos your item shift to last so that it's the highlight. Sigh! I was already on the way. Never mind. Used to delays anyway. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong. But then even on weekends, Murphy's not on leave. Murphy works on Saturday nights. Sound system decided to go haywire. DJ can't do much. So still have to continue. The haywired sound system made a 3.45 minutes song end in 2.50 minutes time. Imagine dancing at double speed. So cartoon. Like when you fast forward your tape that kind. Fark lar. That's not all. MC announced wrongly. Third item is third item, not audience interaction! Ended up audience came onstage wrong time. Stage overcramped. Kena hit accidentally by cane. One of the audience's scarf dropped to his legs. Whole effect = messy.
**********
Moral of Incident 3:
Worst show I ever did. Guest of honour's our Health Minister. Of cos want to impress VIP right? But you see: whatever can go wrong, once again, DID go wrong. Nothing that I can do. Rehearsal can be so smooth and come showtime, system and MC decide to go on strike simultaneously. Really not within my control. Only Murphy's in control.
P.S. I recalled doing another show whereby things went out of control too. The organiser released so much of that vapour-smoke thing while we were onstage. So much so that we can't see clearly and end up bumping into each other and almost entangled ourselves in our own veils. Elegantly of course.

I had dreamless sleep for the past few weeks but this week, my dreams recurred. I remembered whimpering painfully in one dream. So loud that I woke myself. Only in dreams do I get to experience ridiculous stuff. If you watch "Wanted", you would know what I mean. My dreams are somewhat similar, not that the bullets can curve or the car can do a somersault but similarly ridiculous.
I dreamt I can walk on the walls, jump around, crawl around the pipes in the Tang Dynasty era while escaping tankers. I don't know why there are pipes or Iraq-y lookalike tankers in the Tang Dynasty where the men still have pigtails. But you see, anything's possible in my dreams. And they say dreams are a reflection of the subconscious. Tell me, what kind of subconscious do I have? A superhero wannabe?
Often, I have a strong deja vu: it's like I've been here, I've dreamt it before. I enmeshed myself in the moment and it washed over me and I let this deja vu carry me from the strangeness of the occurrence to the awareness of the duplicity of the happening. Time stands immobile. And then it's gone.

There would be loads of pictures this time so your screen may take some time to load.
Okay, the first picture's something that I have been looking for quite a while. Ever since I got my new ipod touch. I finally found 'My Melody'. Now I only need to find my pink pom-pom.

A little sidetrack... usually I take days to finish typing one entry. I will steal nuggets of free time in between TV commercial breaks, cutting songs, waiting for the laundry, cooking soup, etc; which is why sometimes my sentences doesn't flow. So pardon me for that. I am not one who's able to sit down and finish everything at one go. Because it actually takes time to translate thoughts into words.

I hadn't been on a cruise before until now. I was led to believe that one must know how to swim. Obviously, I was misled. Bah!
When it comes to trying something for the first time, I am easily excitable and hyped up! I hear so much from friends who've been on cruises. The common denominator seemed to be the buffets. They all warned me about super tiny rooms so my mind's conditioned to expect really squeezy sleeping area. In reality, it's not so bad after all.
Sure, the cabin looked rather tight to accomodate 4 people but it's not that uncomfortable. Plus the cabin configuration's rather smart. Look at the last two bottom shots of the picture. You can pull the upper board on the wall such that it becomes like a double decker.

Star Cruise also gives out this lanyard that can hold the handphone, kinda cool eh? Frees my hand at the buffet lines. But then, there's no reception at all when out in the open sea. No wonder my handphone's so quiet the whole time, I didn't even realise until I was back in the cabin at night.
_______________________________________________ Okie Jenny, this is for you. I know you asked me some time back about my steps in makeup when doing shows. So I will do a by-and-by here for you:
1) I mentioned before in my post titled "Semi-Finals" for steps 1-5; and so the end result will be like this.

2) Treat your face like a canvas, paint boldly. Stage makeup means that you have to pile on loads so that the colours will show under strong lights when onstage. Please note that the eyes are the main focus so typically you should spend most of your time perfecting this part. For your benefit, I have taken shots of the 4 steps involved - i) paint the whole lid, ii) draw thick black line close to lash line, iii) draw thin black line on lower lash line and iv) stick on falsies. (NB: for maximum effect, use Romlom liquid eyeliner). The completed eye portion is the last shot on this picture.

3) Lastly you have to line your lips and apply lipstick/ lip gloss. Look at the before and after look... See what I mean? Even if you warpaint your face, under strong lights can't see much colour.

The above made up face's for a gig actually. SGH Dept of Urology 20th Anniversary. Bollywood Theme.
We had fun horsing around the props meant for SGH staff. Ha ha. The blue standee where I put my head up reminds me so much of those times when I was a kid. You know there are loads in Sentosa, Zoo, Bird Park when we were young? I always had to tip-toe to reach the hole meant to stick your face in.
And then we camera-whore with a male Bollywood star standee. Cheap Thrill!!

By the way, Urology comes from the word Urine. In case you wondered. A new discovery:...Doctors and nurses really know how to let their hair down and play! I was kinda taken aback at how spontaneous/ high/ sporting they all were! I would say they are even wilder than the bankers/ insurance people. I know, I know. Hard to imagine huh? It's almost like telling you Dalai Lama strip himself naked, did a booty shake and then stick out his tongue in a Maui-way while pointing his middle finger.
They had several table games including quizzes. No prize for guessing but particularly found a quiz question interesting: How many calories are there in semen?
1) 0.6g
2) 6g
3) 60g
4) 600g
Who says doctors & nurses are straight-laced and boring?
Also recalled a sms exchange between me and one of my friend while waiting backstage. He and me sounded so ah-beng-ah-lian:
Me: Still waiting backstage, every x make us wait and wait, haiz
LL: Now is LL no choice, suck thumb bang wall. Poor thing eh
Me: Ha ha. Not that bad lar. Got one x security v tight. They examined our cane, thought it's weapon
LL: Ha ha, You all hot sexy belly assassin ma
Me: Aiyo, assassin sound like ninja turtle
LL: Ninja a clan mah
Me: Ya lo, I drip blood, drink and swore
LL: U ah, hilarious
I am quite fully capable of writing in proper full sentences but when it comes to sms, it's another different story.

"Lost"
The thing is the next season's going to air on TV.... AGAIN! It annoys me to no end whenever I see the trailer on TV. I lost interest halfway through season 1 when it was first aired a couple of years ago.
Watching this stupid series is like having sex and yet unable to come.

I am getting ready to head to the police station after lunch. It's been some time since I last made an online police report for forgery/ fraud/ CBT.
Online is kinda funny, the website has fields about the suspect's eye colour, clothes, height and weight. How the hell am I supposed to know?
And is it really necessary to email me 5 separate times within a span of two hours after I logged the report? One to acknowledge receipt(system auto generated), one from the assigned police station to acknowledge receipt, one to let me know the reference no, one to let me know who is the assigned officer and then one from the assigned officer.
If you think private sector has problems with efficiency, then just re-read my above 5 sentences.

I am simply blown away by this dance routine in SYTYCD Season 3!!! It should be on next Monday on Channel 5 7.30pm or the week after - I don't know. But just in case, I have attached the video here. Even if you have no time now, do come back to this page the next time round. It's really a powerful choreo and brings out emotions in you just by watching it.
I like all the contemporary routines - poignant, clean lines, tells a story. Always a love story. Notice that the beginning and the ending pose in this dance is the same. This dance depicts the struggles you have in a relationship. Even with all the struggling in between (when the two dancers were entangled and distangled), somehow you end up in the same pose, ie back to square one in a relationship. In terms of technique, pay particular attention to 1.13 - 1.16 minute of the video when Lacey did the leap onto Kameron. AWESOME!!! The girl must be courageous enough to jump and leap and trust her partner to catch her. Imagine if it's me, I collapse and crush the poor man how?? ha ha.
The next favourite will be the one by Danny & Anya. Not as poignant as the earlier one but the song says it all - Apologise (by OneRepublic). I like it more because of the song than the choreo; nonetheless, it's still a good show put up by two strong and elegant dancers. The dance style is the same - contemporary. Also a love story - how many of you have ever encountered relationships when it's too late to apologise or to be apologised to? This dance depicts that scenerio. The end is predictable - yupe, with the two people still being apart.
Danny is a beautiful dancer, and so is Anya. Great techniques: he does turns at the beginning before he sits on the floor and look at her over his shoulders. At the end, he does those perfect turns again. For me, 1.05-1.07 is powerful. And so is 1.12-1.15, he lets her down again and again.
What's your interpretation of this routine?

Jillina's coming to KL next month, yippee! She's going to Australia from Korea and will transit over at KL; hence the last minute arrangement for workshops to be held on Monday and Tuesday evening. Most of you don't know this but workshops are usually organised way in advance and almost always on weekends for the convenience of participants. But I can't complain cos she's really the heavyweight superstar. For most of you who do not follow MED (middle eastern dance), Jillina is the main choreographer of the group Bellydance Superstar (BDSS). She's a to-die-for kind of a performer and instructor. Although my personal favourite is Amar Gamal in the group (she's also part of Bellyqueen), Jillina's energy and drum solos are simply amazing and unsurpassable!
Jillina:
Amar Gamal:
"Jillina is a dancer of unsurpassed skills; a disciplined professional whose tight, powerful technique and dynamic personality won't let you blink. She is a spellbinding and gregarious performer whose passion for dance amazes audiences everywhere. Mesmerizing and musical, her dance goes beyond the borders of any country gaining her recognition by the dance community worldwide.
Jillina has won multiple awards from the International Academy of Middle Eastern Dance including "Best Modern Egyptian Dancer" and "Best Dance Company". As founder and director of the Sahlala Dancers, Jillina pulls from a strong background in Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop to create a colorful Middle Eastern and world fusion repertoire. As a choreographer, audiences admire her for her artistic interpretations, her understanding of the culture and her musicality.
Jillina has toured the world teaching seminars and performing in concerts, she is currently the director and choreographer of the Bellydance SuperStars and Desert Roses, one of the main highlights in the acclaimed Lalapolozza tour of 2003, a "must see" says RollingStone Magazine.
Jillina's annual trips to Egypt allow her to progress in her art as well as keep up with all the modern trends, which she graciously shares with students and peers. Through her years of professional and teaching experience, Jillina has mastered the art of dance instruction to artists of all levels. Passionate about her art, Jillina upholds its integrity and tradition by incorporating the history and theory behind Middle Eastern Dance. As a skilled workshop instructor Jillina is able to give both corporate and individual attention as needed. Her methodical approach and breakdowns are so articulate and specific that even the most novice dancer can quickly and readily enjoy this beautiful and exotic art form."
I so adore her and am really looking forward to her workshop! _______________________________________________
My company is kinda cool. We'll get a one-time inflationary bonus in this month's payslip. It's not much money at all but it goes to show the willingness to share in times of tide.
Oh yah, before I forget, I must tell you all that the 6 of us managed to get seats on SQ on 24th Jul!! The finger crossing part does work... hee. We didn't have to take some budget airline. Let's just really hope it doesn't rain for the 25th dinner although we have plan B if it rains. *Finger crossing again* Hmm, we have to be at the airport real early though;.. like at 630am?? Small price to pay, I guess... for the extra time that we would get to have in preparation for the event.

My body's aching slightly from playing floorball. When they say it's really tiring, I thought they were kidding. I mean, I have survived hours of dance training, blading for 1-2 hours at one go, even the ridiculous aches you get from wakeboarding or non-stop half an hour on the treadmill; I am sure my body can take about at least 10-15 minutes of floorball ba??!!
Guess what?! I couldn't be more wrong!!!! I was so so exhausted at the end of 5minutes. And then I know why. All the other activities that I mentioned above that I did before are strenuous no doubt. But all of them involves a steady speed at some point in time; so that maintaining the stamina is not really a problem. More of a mind-over-matter/body thing. How long you think you can dance/ jog/ blade/ ride, etc is mind-over-body. But not FLOORBALL!!! There's so much bursting at top speed then suddenly stopping to try to 'snatch' or 'whack' the ball. The sprinting-then-sudden-stop thing is what kills. If I may do a comparison, the closest will be like doing shutter-run (the one where we had to bend and pick beanbags) but you do it continuously for 5minutes. Xiong to infinity, I tell you!
I shan't explain what floorball is except that it's like playing hockey. Plus there are rules, always tackle frontally, never from behind and never swing the stick above waist-level. The rest, please read yourself from this link here. http://web.singnet.com.sg/~nsntrdg1/aboutus.html
Not cheap wor, cost $50 per hour I think. But it's really fun lah. Of course the guys beat us girls. It's like an innate ability for men - just better at sports even though we all learn how to play at the same time. Men are more competitive and aggressive too. Lucky Marcus on my team, he used to play rugby. ha ha! I think in the middle of the game, we got kinda carried away, somebody whacked the stick onto my third finger. I don't even know who lor. Super pain ah! It's a game only!! Why so violent wor??!!

Talk about innate ability, men are also better at driving, I find. VT suggested going to Dempsey for lunch. So he picked me up from Centrepoint taxi stand. He then had to cut from the left most lane to the right most lane so that we can make a right turn. If you are familiar with roads along Centrepoint stretch, you would know that it's barely like 10m before you have to make that turn. So I marvelled when he made it, I almost thought we wouldn't.
I also knew of someone who can parrellel park his BM in a lot which is enough to house the vehicle but really very snug cos of the cars front and back of the lot. I wow because he didn't have to adjust the car at all. Just one time swee swee park. Apparently, (I found out later) he got his training in Australia, where he was 'forced' to parrellel park all the time with tons of others waiting behind for their turn. With this kind of pressure, no wonder he's an expert when it comes to roads back here. No matter how long they have not handled a vehicle, it seems like they would never forget how to.
It's not I am taking sides and helping mens' ego but there are just certain tasks that they are better at. Maybe testosterone made them better at assessing situations, more willing to take risks and more alert in cases of emergencies. Flight or fight decision made in an instant. I know for sure, I am lousy at all the above. My likely reaction would be to remain dazed and blur for a moment. By then, the window of oppurtunity for anything decent would have disappeared. Ade said I should master the art of defensive driving first before she imparts me the skill of aggressive driving. You sure you know what you talking about, sweetie?
