Waka Waka Eh Eh... This Time for Afrika!!!

Everyday, my routine included a stop to Singapore Pools ever since World Cup 2010 kicked off on 11 June.  I have been religiously logging on daily to the website to pore over the odds and then reporting dutifully to Singapore Pools to place my bets.

The only exception was last weekend (both Sat and Sun) because I was rushing to and from RWS (Resorts World Sentosa) and basically too tired out from dancing that I simply had no time to sleep, let alone analyse odds.

If you asked me if I win or lose... frankly I have lost track.  I don't play big and my bets ranges from $5 - $30 per game.  I think I won most games but the payouts are not much.  Maybe just enough to cover those games I lost.  So most likely, I figured either I broke even or even lost a little... so far.

But hey, it's all just for fun... I am definitely not a gambler.  The thrill lies in the knowledge that I got it right just by studying the odds.  Plus I don't really support any teams although I admit some teams are really talented.

The only time people lose big is when emotion took over logic.  AS IN the CLASSIC EXAMPLE of the 3 Kittens... clearly, these pussycats are simply lousy but still there were loads of supporters out there on FB.  It's not us who's smarter but you who's stubborn and probably too embarassed to even acknowledge that: hey you are really on the wrong supporting camp.

No amount of loyalty or positive feelings for that team can make up for the sheer stupidity of having the reality slapping you back in your face.

Now, having said all that, I have yet to reveal that I have been a fan of Maradona since I was a little girl.  And so that's where my allegience lie.  But I am logical; not emotional.  So far the odds speak of them having a fairly good chance at the trophy.  The only team standing a better chance is Brazil... speaking from the odds' point of view, naturally.

So Irritating!

It's just a simple, no-brainer stint at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS); yet there are so many limitations and so called 'to-do' and 'what-not-to-do'!!!

There's really no skills involved when dancing there, more like wayang-ing and looking pretty... I can't stand why she keeps creating more n more obstacles??!

All the negotiations are to her own advantage. Now she says RWS allow us to claim cab fares home on fri & sat.. isn't this more expensive than granting us complimentary car park coupons (which is only $4, by the way)?

Only she doesn't drive and this
Cab allowance thing is to her advantage and not the rest!!! Because she takes public transport to RWS while the rest of us drove! There are just too many stuff to lug along there... Farking Bitch!

Mia's note

Your reality is your reality.  Your perception is your perception.
Whatever your truth is, it is.

Trying to understand the difference between your truth and the truth of others that has been embedded in your consciousness is a great challenge.  How do we honestly know the difference?

Go inside of yourself… The answer lies there.

What are you?  What is your beauty?  What is your ugliness?

What is fat?  What is happy?  What is perfect?  What is love?
What is art?  Your perception of your truth is what is, at this moment, in this time, and most likely ever changing.

Everyone being wired and divinely programmed differently has their own truth.  Every truth is valid and perhaps it’s the complete opposite of others’.

Does it mean it’s wrong?  Nothing is right or wrong…
It just is.  Right or wrong is merely just your own judgment and perception.
Creating my own right and my own reality, is my truth at this time.

My own vision and instincts are what makes me… me.

My timing, phrasing, and choice of vocabulary is my right.  What is corny or false to me could be the most brilliant thing for someone else?

Seek your own truth.  Stand strong in it.  Know it.  Own it.

Follow your gut instincts and never question.  Your reality is yours and your reality is perfect!  Remember, my writing is my own little perception, of my own little truth inside this big vast world of billions of individual truths.  PERFECT, isn't it?

Nic Chagall/ Amin Van Buuren

Noticed the ipod touch icon on my side bar???

It took me really a long time to find a suitable site that hosts playlist but finally it's out.  Only two songs (technically it's one song but different version) because I only want to showcase my current favourite song.

I like it so much that I listen to it everytime I am on my ipod, on my pinko or in the car.

Song No.1 : THIS MOMENT by Nic Chagall
Nic Chagall is a trance music producer and DJ.  This is his latest single released last year.  Besides producing music, he tours n plays at the hottest clubs so needless to say, he's on the same league as top DJs like Paul Van Dyk, Amin Van Buuren, etc.

I only have the mp3 of this version and it's what I prefer on most days too - it's not too heavy trance and the beginning is quite soothing in fact.  This 4+ minute track is worth your time to listen to simply because it grows on you.  It may not seem like much the first time but the more times u play and listen to it, the more you find yourself being absorbed into it.

I like to tune in on my way to work and I like it as background music (on really LOW volume) on pinko late at night.  Even though it's a trance piece, strangely there's this induced peace particularly in the wee hours.

Song No.2 : THIS MOMENT remixed by Amin Van Buuren
Ya it's weird that another DJ re-mixes his work but boy, when this other DJ in question is Amin Van Buuren, it's the next ultimate awesome thing.  Like king of trance meets guru of trance - mind shattering!!!

I am no fan of trash music trance and more of a top 40s/ hip hop chick but if you have heard Amin play before, you would be a convert too!  Particularly his club music when partying... so if you ever ever ever have the chance to be at where he is, count your lucky stars & gear up for a night of unforgettable high.

And now for the music itself, I do not have the mp3 of this piece.  It's slightly longer at 7+ minutes but Amin preserved the original Nic Chagall up til 4+ minutes mark (ie where the pause button is on the ipod)...  And that's where it really starts to rock!!!  Close your eyes and imagine the build up he's created (ie the part where the music is between the pause button and the forward button on the ipod)... the closest I can imagine is if you are in velvet.

Aiya, Amin really ROCKS big time lar!!!  Club music at its best; more so if it's at Jarkarta clubs; the crowd's all wild when he comes on.  If you do not savour 'This Moment' as much as I do, I don't blame you but that's cos you hadn't experience what I did.

Big Blue Black!

This is so painful!!! Kneeling on the floor while dancing results in ugly knees.

Mind you, I did wear knee guards under my leggings while dancing; it could have been worse!  Guess I bruise rather easily cos my veins are small.  I know this when the doctor at the operating theatre tried 3 times before he succeeded in locating a possible entry for the tube.,. and then he said:" Ms Go, you have very small veins."

Noticed my blog is all nice nao?? mad angry recently cos of the silly photobucket message.  Luckily DL is a whiz... I knew I asked the right person when he gave me instructions of how to save my template so that he can amend the html file and then blah blah blah.  Thanks ah!!!

Talk about tapping on someone's strength

This sounds totally lazy but I swear it was unintentional.  Was reading Ber's Blog and she wrote about our first encounter earlier this year.  SO instead of me relating the whole incident again, I'll tap on her strength (strength being: able to update entries in a timely and orderly manner)... so there! go read yourself what we did!!!

http://xian-nu.blogspot.com/2010/03/went-temple-to.html

Pay attention to how she described the VISA system there... totally hilarious and factual!!! Plus each of us carry this tray that made us look like prisoners going through the different stations to get our ration for the day.  At least I was smarter, I wore red top (so red chop is ok for me) plus LEOPARD PREENS shorts!!! RARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Check this out!

Look at this and make a guess on how do you use it!

Yes it's a WATCH... and how you read the time is like this:
See the vertical LED lighted up?
The second vertical column (the single green light) means that it's 1.00
The third vertical column (three lights: green red amber - like traffic lights jumbled up) means that it's 0.3
The last column (two lights: amber red) means that it's 0.02

So the time NAO is 1.32p.m...... TA DA!!!!!
